Organic farming

What is organic farming? ..... Organic farming can be very different in the EU and Europe. In some countries, organic farming is meant only that animals eat organic feed. but may live under very cruel conditions. Sweden has one of the highest standards of animal welfare in the world, and also in organic farming. Swedish slaughter animals are anesthetized before slaughter.

Sweden - Organic pigs in the summer. They must, according to KRAV (organic) rules, given the possibility to mud bath to cool off in summer heat. Kindergarten children visits is appreciated by the curious pigs who like to sniff. And kindergarten children appreciate the interest from the four-footed. It is also important to teach children early to get a good understanding of animal's needs and that they are sentient beings.

Sweden - In 2014 you must walk the cows outside in the winter if you have KRAV-production (organic) and tethered animals. Mellangården in Klövsjö try this practice already -  winter exercise is to get the cows in shape for the trek to the mountains and the summer farm.
